update on my Mom
Well, it is as all of us suspected, but didn't want to admit: Mom's liver cancer is terminal. The doctor says she has anywhere from “months to years,” depending, according to the doctor, mainly on her attitude. She starts chemo on Friday, Oct. 13, but the most the chemo can do is simply slow the cancer down.

Cancer is a curious thing. One one hand it's a big, ugly beast that we all fear. On the other hand, it has a very tangible blessing. It gives us time to say the things that we have been meaning to say, but haven't. It gives us time to make right the wrongs. It gives us time to re-focus our priorities. It helps us come out of our own little worlds and embrace the people around us. Cancer reminds us that we are mortal. It reminds us that we need to love one another while we still have one another on this earth.

So, for today, choose love. Choose hope. Choose to cling to God because all that He offers is good.

Hope, love, faith, and forgivness...those are the true blessing not only in life, but in cancer as well. I love you my friend. I am praying that you accept what needs to be accepted, forgive what needs forgiven, and love - just like Christ! Take care and know I am here for you always! Love, Amy

I'm really sorry to hear that your mom is dealing with this diagnosis Aimee. I will be praying for her, and your whole family.

    Aimee,
Your perspective is amazing, and right on. I didn't have to watch my mom suffer. . . but I didn't get to say goodbye.

You (and yours) are in my prayers.

    Aaron
